As an honored member of the children’s charities supported by Rochester Press-Radio Club we would like to spread the word on yet another great Day of Champions Dinner.  Details and information on tickets can be found below.

“National Football League Most Valuable Player Matt Ryan will headline the 68th annual Rochester Press-Radio Club Day of Champions Children’s Charities Dinner on Thursday, April 20 at the Joseph Floreano Riverside Convention Center.

Ryan will receive the Coca-Cola Sports Personality of the Year Award, and will be joined at the head table by Greece native and Buffalo Sabres veteran Brian Gionta, as well as other local award winners (see list below).

A nine-year starter for the Atlanta Falcons, Ryan is coming off a season in which he posted career bests in accuracy (69.9 completion percentage), passing yards (4,944), touchdowns (38) and quarterback rating (117.1). He also threw a career-low seven interceptions, while leading the Falcons to their second Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. Ryan was born in Exton, Pa., and played collegiately at Boston College. After guiding the Golden Eagles to three consecutive bowl victories, he was selected third overall in the 2008 NFL draft.

“We are thrilled to have the NFL MVP as our keynote speaker,” said Press-Radio Club President Keith Ryan. “Matt continues our club’s rich tradition of bringing the top names in sports to Rochester as we honor the people who make our community so special.”

Gionta will receive the prestigious Maj. Donald Holleder Award in recognition of his distinguished 14-year National Hockey League career.

Tickets for the dinner are $135, with a table of 10 available for a discounted price of $1,250. A limited number of private “Meet and Greet Matt” packages are available for $750. The package includes two dinner tickets, two 8×10 professional photographs with the headliner and a football autographed by Ryan. A limited number of VIP reception tickets are being offered at $250 per person. This includes an opportunity to meet the headliner and receive a dinner ticket and a photograph signed by Ryan.
